I’m a bit of a Sci-Fi geek and have been involved in real estate for over 15 years.
So when I saw the television show Eureka, on the SyFy channel, feature SARAH, the ultimate smart house, I thought they was pretty cool.
SARAH stands for Self Actuated Residential Automated Habit.
Now, you probably can’t turn your home in to the same level of smart house that SARAH is, but there are some amazing things you can do with home automation systems today.
There things you can control with your home automation system are almost unlimited.
The cool thing about SARAH is she learns about her resident and adapts along the way. I don’t think a smart house that isn’t on television has achieved that ability yet.
But, if you can think of it ahead of time and program your home automation system to do it, it will be done.
And it doesn’t even need to be built into a house. Think about the example from the video clip. The sheriff is watching a baseball game that SARAH recorded. Well, can’t you do that with your DVR?
I’m not sure about beer on tap, but think about coffee makers. You can set your coffee maker to start brewing at a certain time in the morning.
So not only can you outfit your house to be more tech advanced, all the appliances you have it are getting smarter also.
